High traffic volumes head north

Traffic is expected on the major routes north as holidaymakers head home after the Easter break.

TRAFFIC officials, Metro officers, Ambulance Services and SAPS are out in full force today as many holidaymakers return home on the country’s major routes.
According to reports high traffic volumes northbound between Durban and Johannesburg will peak at around 2700 vehicles per hour today between 9am and 9pm.

By 8am this morning, the N3TC posted on Twitter that 1360 motorists were on their way north through the Mooi Plaza.
Motorists are cautioned to be aware of traffic congestion in areas like Van Reenen’s Pass and the Tugela Toll Plaza.
