Pupil’s art talent on display

Local school pupils' art is on display at Kearsney College this week.

THE artistic talent which exists among high school pupils in KwaZulu-Natal is highlighted in an inspiring exhibition currently on display.

Now in its fourth year, the visual arts exhibition is part of Culture@Kearsney. More than 320 pieces were submitted, ranging from pencil drawings to oil paintings, batiks to sculpture.

The exhibition is open to the public until this Sunday (13 March) 9am to 6pm on weekdays and 9am to 4.30pm weekends in the Centenary Centre at Kearsney College. There is no charge for entry.

Fourteen schools submitted work, including local schools Glenwood High School and Maris Stella.

Culture@Kearsney is an annual programme of festivals which provides a platform for the province’s youth to showcase their talent and creativity. It will be followed at various intervals during the year by a number of other inter-schools events, including a photographic competition, a dance and movement festival, a one-act play festival, a celebration of choirs from both primary and high schools and an evening of slam poetry which will test the skills of youthful linguists.
