Join fun quiz league

GET you thinking caps on, and join HOLAH for a new monthly quiz league.

The league started last month, following the decision by founders of HOLAH to do something fun to raise funds for the baby house.

“The Rotary Club of Durban hosted a fundraiser last year and people who took part said they really enjoyed it. We decided to take it a step further and encourage teams to join us in a league. We approached Bev Cooke-Tonnesen to be our quiz master as she would keep people on their toes!” said Leanne Lorrance from HOLAH.

The quiz night is on the first Wednesday of every month at the Glenmore Pastoral Centre at 6.30pm. Basic meals and drinks are sold. You can join the league as a team of six, which costs R600 to join, or go with a team once off, at R60. When you join the league you get team badges, a fixed table, and are encouraged to come up with a war cry.

“We have four rounds of varying categories, so it doesn't become boring. We include general knowledge, arts and culture, music, and 'strange but true' questions, so teams who are part of the league get the full range of questions. I like to choose questions that people would be interested or amused to know the answer to. The quiz is to test general knowledge, but also entertainment that stands on its own,” said Bev.
