A Merry Christmas to all … and to all a safe season

Wishing you all a safe, blessed and joyous Christmas.

CHRISTMAS, the silly season is upon us once again … the older I get the more I tend to remark how quickly it seems to come around! Looking back on the year that has past it must go down in history as one of our most turbulent years at both national and local levels.

But now is not the time to dwell on what has been, now is the time we devote to family and friends as we gather together to share in the joy of the season.  To those of you who will be with family this Christmas I say enjoy your time together and treasure these moments. While we toast the Merry Season, let us also spare a thought for those who are not as fortunate; for those who are separated from family, to those who find themselves alone at this time of the year and to those missing loved ones who have passed on.

Tables will be filled with an array of delicious foods and braai fires will no doubt be lit early tomorrow as we indulge in a feast of culinary treats. For those who are able to, share a plate of food with someone less fortunate – a known car guard, vagrant or beggar … this is the time of the year after all to share and spread some joy.

To each and everyone of you I wish you all a blessed and joyous Christmas, please be safety conscious and keep your eyes on little ones near swimming pools, watch out for your animals but most of all, take care, be vigilant and drive with care on the roads.
