Paramedics rescue kitten wedged in wheel

Rescue Care paramedics responded to an odd call which resulted in a kitten's life saved when it was lodged in the magwheel of a break down vehicle on Monday night.

A kitten is lucky to be alive after paramedics responded to an “odd” call on Monday night.

According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, paramedics received a call about a kitten stuck in the wheel of a breakdown truck.

“An advanced life support paramedic went to see how he could assist and found a small kitten had wedged itself into the mag wheel. It appeared that the kitten had not been injured, however was very aggressive and agitated,” explained Jamieson.

It was decided the best way to get the kitten out was to remove the wheel. “Once the wheel had been removed the kitten was dried and examined by the paramedic who gave it a clean bill of health. Andreas Mathois from SA CAN Pet Rescue assisted in finding the little kitten a loving home,” concluded a happy Jamieson.
