Let’s take back our areas

A resident feels the community should take responsibility for the area, and not rely on the municipality.

EDITOR – Everyone complains about the filth, crime, service delivery and more. Instead of paying taxes, pay the people (company) who will do the job.

Why have a non-working/useless municipality, and pay them to do nothing? Find people who will do the work themselves, and we can all pay them to do the work. Small businesses can start and grow into larger businesses. The municipalities will cease to exist, and we'll all benefit, financially and otherwise.

The streets will be clean, the holes fixed, the street trees will be healed, we'll be paying (probably less) for service delivery, crime will be less with a real police force, who are not lazy and often corrupt, and Durban will be ours.

Rates and taxes will disappear and we'll have more money and be able to afford to pay businesses for their service, and honest security companies.

Durban, even the whole of SA, will benefit, and since all people will benefit, crime will drop drastically.

If people take more responsibility and don't expect the municipality or government to do everything, we can take back our once beautiful country and all have more than enough money.

Now we encourage poverty, crime and the collapse of RSA. If we all 'pull in' and do our share, and collapse the corrupt government and municipalities, and take responsibility for ourselves, our families, our areas and our country, we will all become rich in many ways, and have our beautiful, safe country, with lots of scope for work, education, medical advances and more.

It can be done, but only if each of us is interested in a future for ourselves and our families.

What do others think?
