Explore the LoveTrail

The hills will be alive with the LoveTrail this September.

WHILE you’re at the White Mountain Music Festival in the Central Drakensberg on Saturday 26 September, explore the hills and valleys with LoveTrail.

Take along a pair of running or hiking shoes and experience the White Mountain Lodge like never before. Choose between a 15km true mountain run, or a much less extreme 7km that is suitable for new runners, road runners, and hikers. There are no serious climbs but you will be challenged. Both runs offer stunning grassland singletrack running with amazing views of the Berg on the horizon.

Entrants in the 15km need to be fit and experienced enough for a serious 450m+ vertical ascent of White Mountain, running up to the highest point. This long distance is only for experienced trail runners, not walkers. You will then speed on your way back down on the same course, blitzing a rocky, technical trail that requires caution, but will produce exhilaration.

The road run equivalent of the 15km is in the region of 25km, effort-wise. If you suffer from vertigo and a fear of heights, this run is not for you. There are two short exposed sections of rock getting to the top that require brief moments of rock-hugging.

Register from 7.30am for the start at 9am.

Win the best-dressed competition and spot prizes at the prizegiving after your run.
