Six injured in Point crash

Six people from both vehicles sustained injuries.

SIX people were injured after a bus and a truck collided at the intersection of Mahatma Gandhi (Point) Road and Winder Street yesterday afternoon.

Garrith Jamieson, operations director of Rescue Care said paramedics arrived on the scene and found that a truck and a bus had collided in a T Bone format before the truck lost control and overturned coming to rest on its side. “Our paramedics assessed the scene and found that six people from both vehicles had sustained various injuries. They were stabilized on the scene before we transported them to various hospitals for the further care that they required,” Jamieson said.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS is investigating. “Traffic was severely affected as Point Road was closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene,” Jamieson said.
