Young biker injured after crash

A 21-year-old biker was seriously injured after the motorcycle he was travelling on collided head on with a car at the corner of Bartle Road and Queen Mary Avenue in Umbilo last night.

Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care said paramedics arrived on the scene to find the seriously injured motorbike rider in severe pain. “Advanced Life Support paramedics were needed to stabilise the biker using pain medication. Once he had been stabilised, he was transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required,” he said.

Jamieson was not aware what caused the collision, however did add the police were on scene investigating the accident.
