Woman killed in Musgrave crash

A 32 year-old woman lost her lifewhen the car she was travelling in hit a tree on Musgrave Road early on Sunday.

A young woman was killed and three others injured when a car crashed into a tree on Musgrave Road on Sunday morning.

According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, the vehicle collided with a tree on Musgrave Road near St Thomas Road just after 5.30 on Sunday morning.

“Our paramedics arrived to find the front seat passenger entrapped and had suffered critical injuries. There was nothing paramedics could do to assist her. She was declared deceased at the scene,”

Jamieson said.

The paramedics stabilized the three other passengers in the vehicle before transporting them to various local hospitals.

The deceased young woman, 32-year-old Nontobeko Mkhumbuzi, was visiting Durban when the accident occurred. Her uncle, Thokozani Mkhumbuzi said. “Our family is devastated.”

Berea police are e investigating a case of culpable homicide.
