Inspiring the future women of Africa

A conference for previously disadvantaged delegates aims to inspire and empower, as well as ignite direction and excitement in their future.

THE Robin Hood Foundation will host a conference at CityHill Church in Hillcrest entitled Future Women of Africa on Tuesday, 28 and Wednesday, 29 July.

The conference is free for 1000 previously disadvantaged delegates between the ages of 15 and 36 with the aim of inspiring and empowering, as well as igniting direction and excitement in their future.

“As part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, The Robin Hood Foundation wanted to do something substantial, something that could potentially change the lives of 1000 young South African women who would not normally have the opportunity to attend a conference such as this,” explained Kim Griffith Jones, co-ordinator of the Robin Hood Foundation.

The conference will cover topics such as self-esteem, morale and goal setting, hygiene, etiquette, self-defence, communication skills, CV writing and customer service.

Gcina Mhlophe, story teller and motivational speaker, will be presenting on both days while Ndlunkulu Thandeka Mkhize, the wife of the Chief of Embo, will be speaking and opening the conference in prayer. Stylists, Megan and Faye Coleman, business coach, Jackie Houston, as well as life coach, Marianne Vorster, are also included in the jam-packed agenda.
