CLIFTON played Pinetown Boys’ High School at Growthpoint Kingspark in the curtain raiser to the Sharks vs Stormers game on 13 June.

Both teams were very excited to show off their talents in front of some of their role models and heroes.

The game started very well for Clifton as scrumhalf, Karl Goedeke, scored a try from broken play in the opening five minutes. Soon after this, Pinetown narrowed the gap with a penalty. The rest of the first half saw both teams fighting for territory. The score at half-time was 19-3 in favour of Clifton.

In the second half, Clifton went out with renewed energy and started to play some free-flowing rugby. They were rewarded with five tries in the second stanza. Pinetown also crossed the whitewash for a well-deserved try of their own. The final score on a memorable night for all involved was Clifton 55, Pinetown 10.
