Construction workers killed in Greyville accident

Two workers were killed after being hit by a car in John Zikhali Road.

TWO workers were killed and another person was critically injured in a snarl-up along John Zikhali Road in Greyville on 15 May.

According to Chris Botha from Netcare 911, exact details to the cause of the accident are still speculative, however five vehicles were involved in the accident.

“One vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with workers sitting on the side of the roadway having lunch. Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a man and a woman had tragically died at the scene due to the extensive injuries that they sustained,” he said.

Botha said a woman in her thirties was in a critical condition, and paramedics stabilised her at the scene.

“She was put on a ventilator and transported to a specialised facility for the care that she required,” said Botha.
