Roads to close for aQuellé Tour Durban

Please take note of the road closures that might affect you.

The race committee of the 2015 aQuellé Tour Durban has extended its appreciation to Durban residents and visitors for accommodating the road closures on the day of the race on Sunday, 26 April.

With another bumper entry, cyclists will enjoy the safety of the full closure of roads for the 105km and 45km road races and the 55km cyclo-cross race.

The route heads south from the start at Moses Mabhida Stadium before heading up the hill through Queensburgh to Pinetown, then down to the Umgeni interchange before concluding with the popular coastal out-and-back leg on the M4 freeway.

With the full backing of the Durban City Metro Police Department, the road closures will start from 5.30am and will be re-opened as soon as possible after the last cyclists have cleared each sector.The race organisers have stressed that they will strive to keep inconvenience to local residents to a minimum on the day, and will re-open the roads to normal traffic as promptly as possible.

Masabalala Yengwa (NMR): 5.30am – 2.30pm

Margaret Mncadi Avenue: 5.30am – 8am

M4 South: 5.30am – 8.30am

M7 Edwin Swales and M19 to Pinetown: 6am – 9.30am

M19 Pinetown to Umgeni Road: 6.15am – 10am

Inanda Road (Springfield Park): 6.30am – 10.15am

Riverside Road: 6.3am – 10.30am

M4 north and south-bound from Argyle Road to Desainager Circle: 6.30am – 2pm
