Celebrate World Kidney Day

The World Kidney Day team encourage people to take photos of themselves drinking water and post these on its Facebook page.

ON 12 March South Africa will celebrate World Kidney Day and advocate “Kidney Health for All”.

Last year the World Kidney Day team encouraged people to start the day with a glass of water and this year they invite you to drink a glass of water and give one too!

Explain to your friends the importance of your kidneys to your health and how to protect them. Help the team make people more conscious about their lifestyle choices and encourage them to check their kidneys if they are at risk.

Participating is easy. Take a picture of yourself drinking and giving a glass of water, tweet it to @worldkidneyday with the message: “Today I celebrate #worldkidneyday. I drink and give a #glassofwater because #isupportwkd”. Share it our Facebook page and your social media platforms.

As last year, this is conceived as a symbolic gesture to start a discussion about kidney health and remember that kidneys are vital organs and they should be taken care of.
