Load-shedding fails to derail CPF meeting

Despite load shedding and a poor turnout, the Berea police CPF AGM took place last Thursday.

DESPITE a poor turnout and load-shedding, Berea police showed that crime is an important issue within the community and went ahead with its CPF meeting last Thursday evening.

Sector commanders of the two sectors in the Berea precinct area outlined their area to the community and important crime trends were discussed. Volunteers were elected to the CPF executive committee. Paul Antao, current CPF chairman said the the volunteers would meet at a later meeting where they will decide which posts they would fill on the executive committee.

“Our CPF AGM turnout was very poor. People of this community need to join hands with the police in order to fight crime so we hope that we get more support in future,” said Lieutenant PN Naidoo.
