Support benefit concert

A fundraising concert will be held at Firwood Sports Club to raise funds for entertainer, Colin D's, cancer treatment.

A FUNDRAISING concert will be held at the Firwood Sports Club, intersection of Jan Smuts and Alexander Roads, Northdene ,on Friday 6 February, for Durban comedian and singer, Colin D, who has cancer and is in need of assistance with medical expenses.

Colin is well-known on the Durban club and pub circuit, and has performed as a solo artist, and played with Riaan Jacobz, Nux Schwartz and Paul Basel in the various permutations of the band CPR.

After that he was in the music/comedy duo Sausage as singer/guitarist with Deon Cloete.

In addition to these ventures, Colin has run the comedy club, Colin D’s, and the music club Jammit Dammit.

Colin has performed at the Firkin, Coimbra, the Chantecler Hotel, the Dutch Club, the Rocking Rooster, Firwood Sports Club and many more.

Artists performing at the benefit concert will be Salty Dog, Paul Basel, Dave Birch, Nux Schwartz and Ducdiva. Tickets are R100 a person for adults and R70 a person for teenagers from 14 to 17. Doors open at 6pm.

The club’s kitchen will be open and there will also be braai facilities available. People may buy food from the club or take their own meat.

A cash bar will operate and there will be various drinks specials available throughout the event.
