Witnesses needed in Warwick bombing incident

The police are urging witnesses to the bombing of a safe in Warwick Avenue to help provide information which will lead to the arrest of suspects.

THE police are investigating a case of robbery after thieves blew open a safe at a business in Warwick Avenue in the early hours of this morning (26 November).

It is believed five men held up security guards at the business, tied them up and detonated a bomb. They fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The police’s Thulani Zwane said a case was opened at the Durban Central Police Station and an investigation is underway. No arrests have been made.

He appealed to the community who might have witnessed the incident to come forward and give the police information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.
