EDITOR- The letter (19 September 2014) from a Durban resident warns readers of the company Sustainable Energy’s strategy to scam people. I believe this is the same company that was phoning residents about a year ago to gain their confidence and scam them.
This is also the company that the Carte Blanche team attempted to expose a few months ago.
Over four days last week (10 September to 13 September) I was contacted by a smooth-talking salesman from Sustainable Energy. Each time I established that they operate from Moore Road, and each time the operator made the same request to arrange to do an “energy audit” at my home, I explained very clearly that this was an old scam. I warned them not to phone me again, but they persisted – twice within three hours on the same day!
These salespeople are very smooth and persistent and I urge residents to ignore their efforts to sell their “product”.
