Porn teacher denied bail

THE Durban drama teacher facing 11 counts of possession, production and procurement of child pornography was denied bail when he appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court today.
Magistrate Paul Cartwright said the accused had failed to prove that it was in the interest of justice that he be released. He also took into the count the possible interfering of witnesses by the accused.
Magistrate Cartwright said the 48-year-old Glenwood man was unemployed, had no family and no dependents. His only tie to South Africa was the property he owned in Glenwood.
The matter was postponed to October for further investigation.
