Three injured in morning accidents

Busy morning in Durban for paramedics.

RESCUE Care paramedics have had a busy morning (24 July) dealing with multiple accidents in and around Durban.

Just before 7am Rescue Care paramedics were called to the corner of Helen Joseph (Davenport) and Lena Ahrens (Manning) Roads where two vehicles had collided in the junction. Fortunately no one sustained any injuries in the accident.

Just after 7am paramedics responded to a serious bike accident at the corner of Stalwart Simelane (Stanger) and Sandile Thusi (Argyle) Roads.

On arrival they found two people riding on the bike had sustained serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle in a head on collision.

Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize the injured on scene before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

Around 8am Rescue Care were called to a serious collision on Bluff Road near Paisley Road. On arrival paramedics found that a vehicle had smashed into the rear trailer of a truck.

The driver had suffered serious injuries and together with EMRS, was stabilized on scene by advanced life support paramedics before being transported to a private Durban hospital. Bluff Road was closed while emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.

SAPS was in attendance at these accident scenes and will be investigating further.
