MUSGRAVE Centre went all out for Mandela Day by getting local NGO's to set up shop and benefit from the day.

“The free screening of “Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom” at Ster Kinekor was a hit and fully booked,” said the centre's Marketing Manager, Donald McLellan.

McLellan was happy with the results of the day as 26 patrons donated blood to SANBS, Musgrave Centre collected five shopping bags full of non-perishable food items for Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre, Muscle and Fitness collected blankets and tinned food cans and clothes for HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children through the Namenyi Project Hope. “TAFTA also issued 71 free blood pressure and sugar tests while also appealing for funds in their Buy A Brick fundraiser and AbaKrestu, Child Welfare Durban, and Save the Children all generated awareness around their worthy causes,” he said.
