EDITOR – I must confess I was surprised at the rabid nature of the responses to my letter regarding the Glenwood Prep billboard. I guess the old saying is true: you just can’t teach good taste.
My opinion remains unchanged. A digital billboard in that location is overkill and totally unnecessary. It’s a primary school, for crying out loud, not an airport.
And yet the people of Glenwood seem quite keen on it. So I guess it will join the burnt-out sub-station as another Glenwood ‘feature’. Maybe they can even change the ‘Fukushima green’ to orange come Halloween and have it blink on and off at Christmas time. I wish them many happy hours of viewing and count my lucky stars I live in Umbilo.
