Donation gives hope to children at iThemba Lethu

Children at iThemba Lethu will benefit from a donation from Compass Waste Services.

ITHEMBA Lethu, a transition home for orphaned and abandoned babies in Manor Gardens, recently received a R20 000 donation from Compass Waste Services as part of its corporate social investment programme.

iThemba Lethu seeks to impact the lives of children and young people in Durban whose futures are being threatened by HIV/AIDS, as well as assist in the process of integrating orphaned and abandoned babies into suitable family environments. The donation from Compass Waste Services will go towards the running of two transition homes and help provide food, nappies and groceries for the children in their care.

“It is so wonderful to build a mutually beneficial partnership with intentionally charitable companies like Compass Waste Service. We are so grateful to Compass for their sincere interest and continued support of the work God has entrusted us to do,” said Karen Brokensha, programmes co-ordinator at iThemba Lethu.

Compass Waste Services was established in 1998, and is responsible for providing healthcare risk waste treatment and disposal services to provincial and private sector hospitals and clinics, as well as other generators of healthcare risk waste.
