Vehicles stolen in Morningside recovered in cluster effort

Co-ordinated effort by security bodies resulted in the recovery of two stolen Morningside vehicles. The vehicles were handed over to SAPS, and the victims were asked to identify the vehicles.

YESTERDAY afternoon, two vehicles that were reported stolen in Morningside were recovered – one in KwaMashu and the other in Avoca Hills.

“The Marshall Security Special Operations Team was activated by Tracker SA to assist in the recovery of a blue VW Polo stolen from Bute Road in the Morningside area. Upon receiving the vehicle’s last known location, our Special Operations Team, alongside Tracker SA and the Provincial Vehicle Trio and Vehicle Task Team, immediately responded. The vehicle was found abandoned on Igome Road in KwaMashu. It was handed over to KwaMashu SAPS for further investigation,” said Tyron Powell.

About the second vehicle, he further said that a Nissan NP200 that was stolen from Stamford Hill Road in the Morningside Area was recovered and also handed over to KwaMashu SAPS for further investigation.

“These incidents highlight the dedication and co-ordinated efforts in ensuring community safety and the recovery of stolen vehicles. We commend our Special Operations Team for their swift actions and commitment to bringing offenders to justice and recovering stolen assets,” he said.

Victims in both cases were transported to the police station for the identification of the vehicles.
