Durban Fashion Fair programme opens for applications

THE eThekwini Municipality has called for young and aspiring fashion designers who reside within the greater eThekwini area to apply to be part of the Durban Fashion Fair (DFF) Class of 2024 Mentorship Programme.

The DFF Class of 2024 Programme is an eight-month-long course aimed at developing technical skills in fashion as well as equipping participants to understand the business side of fashion and its development tools.

The programme is also said to help emerging designers navigate market access and leverage networking opportunities to boost their sales and profits, thus ensuring the sustainability of their businesses. As part of the programme, mentees will be presented with opportunities to showcase their work for exposure and to launch their fashion brands or improve existing ones.

The City says that any interested fashion houses/designers are requested to submit their applications, no later than February 23 at 15:00. The application should include the following documents:

• short bio of yourself and your fashion business
• motivational letter outlining why you should be selected
• storyboard/pictures of your latest clothing range
• proof of residence (residential letter by ward councillor)
• proof of qualification
