Electric band set to perform at Alliance Française

The electric band is energetic and fun and has performed at several of KwaZulu-Natal’s finest establishments and functions the last four years.

WHAT do you get when a lion, bear and panther walk onto a stage? The three-piece electric band, The Lion & The Bear. The Lion & The Bear, iSupport Creative Business and Alliance Française, supported by Concerts SA, present a rocking Friday night out with Durban musos this month. The concert will take place at Alliance Française in Morningside on Friday, June 23, with doors opening at 19:00. Tickets are available on Webtickets for R70 or can be purchased with cash at the door.

The Lion & The Bear is an electric rock trio featuring band members Ross Meintjes (guitar and vocals), Ruben Thomas (bass and vocals) and Brendon Meintjes (drums and vocals), formerly part of the South African hit band, AVADE. For the last four years, the band has performed at several of KwaZulu-Natal’s finest restaurants, bars and clubs, as well as private parties, weddings and corporate functions.

The Lion & The Bear are energetic and fun, with a combination of soulful covers and catchy originals that get people off their seats and rocking. Hear their latest single, Street Fight, live, or stream it on your favourite online platforms.

This concert is made possible by the SAMRO Foundation/Concerts SA. Concerts SA is a joint South African/Norwegian live-music development project housed under the auspices of SAMRO and managed by IKS Cultural Consulting. It receives financial, administrative and technical support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SAMRO and the SAMRO Foundation. Working with musicians, promoters, venue owners and audiences and providing support to the sector through research and skills development for music professionals, the project aims to build a vibrant and viable live music circuit in southern Africa.
