WATCH: Protesters gather outside EFF offices in Glenwood

The final tally was about 1 000 EFF members who started making their way to King Dinuzulu Park at 09:15.

EFF MEMBERS slowly gathered outside their offices in Glenwood in Durban from the early hours of this morning, as the national shutdown is yet to fully get off the ground.

The Glenwood UIP released a statement this morning, saying: “We have noted the EFF members gathering outside Waltons on the corner of Bulwer and Clark. This is to be expected as it is where their offices are located. It is understood that they will leave from here to meet at King Dinizulu Park which is the gathering point for the march. SAPS are in attendance.”

According to the Glenwood UIP manager, Vernon Stokes, the gathering started in Bulwer Road adjacent to the EFF Regional offices at around 01:00 with about 50 people.

“It grew throughout the night into the morning hours with a final tally around 1 000,” said Stokes.

The Glenwood UIP manager says they commenced with the march to King Dinuzulu Park at 09:15.

“There are no incidents thus far. All authorities are in attendance, including the Airwing,” concluded Stokes.
