School learner stabbed by fellow learners during altercation

A fourteen-year-old learner sustained a stab wound to his right hand during an altercation with a group of fellow learners.

A FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy was stabbed this morning at a Greyville high school during an altercation with a group of fellow learners.

According to Kyle Van Reenan, spokesperson for Emer-G-Med paramedics, Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to reports from a high school in the Greyville area of Durban of a stabbing at 09:00 this morning.

“Reports from the scene are that a fourteen-year-old learner sustained a stab wound to his right hand during an altercation with a group of fellow learners,” said Van Reenan.

The spokesperson said that the boy was treated and stabilised on scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
