Several organisations shared presentations, including the eThekweni Municipality’s Water and Sanitation Department.

Also speaking on the day was Sastri College principal Santosh Rajcoomar who highlighted the Women’s Month message.

“As a society, to advance our country and the world through science, it is imperative to encourage female learners to pursue career paths in science and engineering and to make their footprint, too.

“It is time we correct the negative perception that science is for their male counterparts and assist them to recognise the additional career opportunities in the field of science. As a teaching and learning community, let us shift minds and build confidence in supporting science programmes that encourage, mentor, and motivate especially female learners. Such interventions will have a positive impact on the development of our society,” said Rajcoomar
