SAPS recover drugs worth R850 000 in Umbilo home

Police raided the Umbilo home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

SAPS recovered drugs valued at R850 000 at an Umbilo house on Sunday, May 15.

Spokesperson for Umbilo SAPS, Captain Phumzile Makaula said police raided the house in the early hours of the morning, after receiving a tip-off.

“Members of the eThekwini District Drug Team received information about a house in Umbilo, where drugs were being stored and distributed around Durban CBD.

One suspect was arrested.

“Different capsules were recovered and 1kg of unpacked heroin powder in clear plastic was recovered. A Zimbabwean national was arrested and detained in Umbilo,” said Makalua.
