Hit-and-run witnesses sought by Sydenham detectives
Sydenham SAPS detectives are calling for any witnesses who may have seen what occurred in the fatal collision.
A HIT-AND-RUN incident on Umgeni Road that resulted in one person’s death has led police on a search for the perpetrator.
Sydenham police station detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward and assist in the culpable homicide case that is being investigated.
It is alleged that on February 26 at 23:45, a man was spinning his vehicle on Umgeni Road when he collided with another vehicle.

According to Colonel Thembeka Mbele from KZN SAPS, “One person died and others were injured. A 22-year-old man died in hospital as a result of an accident. A case of culpable homicide is being investigated by the Sydenham SAPS.”
Culpable homicide is defined as the negligent, unlawful killing of another human being.
Detectives are urgently requesting witnesses to come forward and provide police with accounts of what took place on that day.
