KZNPO hosts spring season concert

KZNPO said this was the first of two World Symphony Season concerts in 19 months.

THE KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra will host its Special Spring Seasons concert at the Playhouse Theatre on Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 pm.

The show features Karen LeFrak’s Gravity, Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Dvořák’s Symphony No.6

The KZN Philharmonic artistic director and chief executive, Bongani Tembe said they are delighted to be back on stage and performing for a live audience again.

“The mighty KZNPO has been busy throughout lockdown with recorded concerts and special events, but we have missed our signature World Symphony Season concerts. We are so happy to be back to bring beautiful music to our loyal audiences for this short, two-concert season special,” said Tembe.

Tembe said audience numbers are reduced and suggested booking early to avoid disappointment, especially as the first concert last week was sold out.

“Concert tickets for the KZN Philharmonic’s World Symphony Series 2021 Special Spring Season final concert are available through Quicket,” said Tembe.
