Durban Central FCS seeks assistance in rape case

The police said the whereabouts of both suspects are unknown.

THE Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit appealed to the greater Durban community to assist with locating two men who they believe can help solve a case of rape.

The spokesperson for the Durban Central SAPS, Captain Muzi Maphumulo said that a 23-year-old woman was raped by three men.

The report indicated she was waiting to cross Canongate Road when a white VW Polo stopped and told her that her transport had arrived.
SAPS shared this image of one of the men they believe can help them solve a rape case.
“The victim became shocked as she did not arrange for transport. The vehicle had three occupants, one of whom was carrying a firearm, said Maphumulo.

The reports indicate the men threatened her and told her to get into the vehicle.

“Due to fear, the victim did so and the vehicle drove away to an unknown place where she was raped by two males,” he said.

Maphumulo said the men also robber her of her cellphone before they dropped her off near the harbour.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of the two men in the accompanying images, contact the investigating officer, Constable Dube, on 072 200 7002 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
