Two dead in Westridge shooting

Two others are believed to have been injured in the shooting incident.

TWO people were killed and two others were injured in a shooting incident in Westridge, Durban at about 18:00 on Friday, October 15. 

Spokesperson for Emer-G-Med Paramedics, Kyle Van Reenen said, “On arrival, paramedics found two males, approximately 40 years of age, in a Nissan Navara. On closer inspection, they were found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead,” said Van Reenen.

“Two other men were rushed to a hospital, privately, for gunshot wounds, prior to arrival of paramedics. Their condition is unknown,” he added.

While the circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown, it is alleged that one of the deceased was a candidate ward councillor for the area.

“However, these details remain speculative,” said Van Reenen.

SAPS was at the scene and will be investigating.
