10 die in N3 horror bus crash

SAPS is investigating a case of culpable homicide.

ELDO Coaches, a national transport service, confirmed one of its busses was involved in an accident that left 10 people dead.

The company said the bus left Durban Station at 06:45 this morning and was en route to Johannesburg. The crash happened at about 11:00.

“According to information at hand, the accident was caused by a blowout of the front wheel tyre and the coach rolled. We are cooperating fully with local authorities to ensure that the accident is thoroughly investigated,” said Eldo Coaches.

According to the police spokesman, Colonel Thembek Mbele they are investigating a case of culpable homicide.

“At this stage, there are 10 fatalities. The injured have been transported to local hospitals.  A culpable homicide case has been opened at Colenso SAPS for further investigation,” said Mbele
