Taxi overturns on M4

TRAFFIC was severely affected on the M4 Durban bound after a taxi overturned on Thursday.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived at the scene to find that a fully laden taxi travelling from the north coast had veered out of control and collided with the concrete barrier before overturning. Thirteen patients sustained various injuries and more ambulances were called to assist in transporting the injured to hospital. Once all of the injured were stabilized on the scene they were transported to various Durban hospitals.

Traffic was backed up as only one lane of the busy freeway was open while emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
