City embarks on major upgrades at electricity call centre

The city's communications unit has confirmed that the the electricity call centre will be switching to a new system. 

IN an effort to improve communication with residents, eThekwini Municipality will be embarking on a major upgrade at its electricity call centre. 
 
According to the city’s communications unit, the electricity call centre is switching to a new system. 
 
Head of eThekwini Municipality’s Electricity Unit, Maxwell Mthembu, said they plan on increasing the staff capacity on the WhatsApp groups where challenges can be reported.
 
 
“The projected timeframe is two weeks and thereafter the call centre is expected to be back on track. The city apologises for the inconvenience this may cause to the public,” said Mthembu.
