Man (60) caught red-handed selling heroin capsules

It is alleged the suspect sold heroin capsules to an undercover police officer and was immediately arrested at his place of residence.

A 60-year-old man, who was caught red-handed selling heroin capsules, was arrested during a covert operation by the Hawks’ Serious Crime Investigation team in Asherville on Tuesday, 25 May.

The man has been charged for dealing drugs and was expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court yesterday (26 May).

According to Colonel Katlego Mogale, spokesperson for Directorate for Priority Crimes Investigation (Hawks) SAPS, the suspect allegedly sold heroin capsules to an undercover police officer and was immediately arrested at his place of residence on Clayton Road.

“Heroin capsules with cash, suspected to be the proceeds of drug dealing, were confiscated. He was charged for dealing in drugs”, he said.
