VIDEO: Protesters disrupt traffic flow on N3

The group of protesters are believed to be heading to Pietermaritzburg.

A GROUP of protesters, who blocked the N3 EB Cloete Interchange this morning (Wednesday, 21 April), are reported to be passing the Mariannhill Toll Plaza.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson, Andreas Mathios, traffic was affected in both directions earlier this morning after a group of people blocked the road.

“Metro police and other law enforcement responded to the scene to direct the traffic flow,” said Mathios.

Mathios said no one was injured and the cause of the protest is yet to be established.

Head of Durban Metro, police commissioner Steve Middleton, said Metro police are monitoring the situation as the protesters were heading to Pietermaritzburg.
