Students graduate with diplomas

Umbilo Private Technical College students celebrated their graduation last week.

STUDENTS from Umbilo Private Technical College celebrated their graduation at the college on Friday.

George Norval, founder, owner and CEO of the college, was proud of the group who obtained their National N-Diploma through the college.

“Most of these students started their educational journey with poor or no academic qualifications. They started at the N1 level and worked their way through the other N-levels, ultimately achieving their diplomas,” he said, adding that while studying, most of them also passed a trade test.

“When we started the ball rolling to arrange this graduation get-together, we found that a large group had left South Africa and are currently working in countries overseas, some could not make it to the ceremony due to work commitments and travel restrictions, and sadly some have passed on. We are incredibly proud of all our graduates and their achievements,” he said.
