Share your ‘treasure’ with the underprivileged

Robin Hood Foundation founder, Cindy Norcott is inviting people who have many items that they no longer need or use to get a big box or black bags and start collecting for those in need.

ROBIN Hood Foundation founder, Cindy Norcott started the year with a positive attitude and has encouraged the community to make a difference from the comfort of their home or work place.

Norcott said their theme this year is ‘Share Your Treasure’. She said she is inviting people who have many items that they no longer need or use to get a big box or black bags and start collecting for those in need.

“People can start this challenge and on the first of the month, put in one item, then on the next day, the second of the month, put in two items and go up by one extra item per day for the entire month. It sounds easy until you get to month end where you need to find many items!” said Norcott.

To add to the excitement, each month, the foundation will be hosting lucky draws for those who participate and complete the challenge.

“There are wonderful prizes donated by some generous companies already on board with the drive,” she said.

All donations will be made up into large gogo bags for distribution to the poor and less fortunate in the surrounding communities, along with a bag of staple foods that Robin Hood will be supplying.

Norcott said their aim is to distribute thousands of these bags and food.

“People can donate clothes, shoes, linen, accessories, stationery and toys as long as it is in good condition. Let’s make this a meaningful year,” she said.
