Durban gospel singer sings God’s praises

DURBAN based gospel singer, Jeremy Govender, is back with more songs to lift the spirits.

“I am working on a fresh new sound. It’s about my personal experience with God and the journey I have travelled with Him,” said Govender.

The video for Govender’s new single, Awesome God, premiered last week on YouTube and DSTV’s Myfaithtv Channel 341. 

He said the song is based on Psalms 130 and is a call for people to put their trust and hope in Jesus during these uncertain times.

The song was conceived in 2010 by seasoned worship leader Harold Francis. 

Govender was motivated to record the track after going through a traumatic armed robbery at his Sunningdale home.

“Going forward I will consistently be releasing singles,” Govender said.

Artistically known as Jemz, he has shared the stage with gospel artists like Joe and Becky Cruse, Lyndon Peterson, Janine Price, Lloyd Cele, Ikiri Lawrence, Lenski Alfred and many more.
