Durban police nab robbery suspects

Both suspects were detained at Durban Central and are both expected to appear in court.

TWO men will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today, 25 January, after an arrest for robbery on 24 January. 

It is alleged that at around 7.30am on Sunday (24 January), officers from Durban Central were initially responding to a complaint of a robbery in the Durban CBD, said KZN police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbele. 

While en route, the officers were stopped by a man who informed them that he had just been robbed, added Mbele.

She said the man identified two suspects and the police officers gave chase and apprehended both men.

One suspect was found to be in possession of a stolen phone and the other suspect was found in possession of dangerous weapons, confirmed Mbele. 

Both suspects were detained at Durban Central.
