The fire broke out in one of the flats at Povall Court, at the intersection of Povall and Musgrave Roads, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

TWELVE families have been affected by the devastating fire that tore through a block of flats in Musgrave in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Following the fire, which broke out in one of the flats at Povall Court, at the intersection of Povall and Musgrave Roads, an appeal has been made for the community to assist with donations for the families.

The top floor of the building was gutted.

Ward councillor Charmaine Clayton said she received the call informing her that a fire had started at the building at 12.10am, and made her way to the scene.

These families have since been moved as there is no electricity at the building, and the roof has caved in. They will also require accommodation.
