Submit your eThekwini electricity and water readings online

Customers who are not registered on the e-Services portal are encouraged to do so as they are able to view their bill, have it sent via email and also pay their bills online.

ETHEKWINI Municipality is now allowing customers to submit their water and electricity meter readings online.

This can be done through the city’s e-Services portal.

The city said this will ensure residents are billed accurately and are able to track their consumption.

It will also assist the Municipality to bill customers based on exact consumption.

“It is beneficial for all customers to be registered on e-Services, so they can take advantage of the various benefits. With this particular application, customers simply choose which service they are entering their reading for and it will be updated immediately,” said Khanyi Gama, Deputy Head of Customer Services.

Gama indicated that because billing days vary from customer to customer, the system will indicate which days are suitable for submitting their readings.

“If the system rejects the reading, if it out of range, for example, it will request the customer to take a picture and upload it on to the system,” she said.

Customers who are not registered on the e-Services portal are encouraged to do so as they are able to view their bill, have it sent via email and even pay their bills online.
