Skeletal remains found in Sydenham

Sydenham police are looking for the relatives of a man whose remains was found in a bush on Rippon Road.

Police are appealing for information regarding the skeletal remains that were found in a dense bush on Rippon Road, Sydenham.

A post-mortem on the remains revealed that they likely belong to an African male aged between 20 and 40 years old.

The watch found on the deceased.

“The pathologist estimates the person was killed between a month and six months ago,” said Captain Nqobile Gwala, South African Police Service spokesperson.

Police said the deceased had a red and white rosary chain with a cross, and a distinctive `Lawrence` wristwatch, with red stones on the band, was found entangled in the remains.

The man was wearing a black Nike tracksuit, white Nike takkies, size 7 or 8.
