Drug dealer nabbed in South Beach area

The recovered drugs have an estimated street value of more than R36 000.

POLICE officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit are continuing with their operations to root out the drug trade in the province. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old man and the recovery of drugs. 

According to Col Thembeka Mbele from provincial SAPS, in the latest incident, police conducted an intelligence-driven operation at a residential premises on Rutherford Road in Point where they recovered cocaine powder and crystal meth.

“The suspect was immediately arrested for possession of drugs and he was taken to Point police station for processing. He made his first appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on 22 September. The recovered drugs have an estimated street value of more than R36 000,” she said.
