Bank offers free wills service

In the face of the South African health disaster, Al Baraka Bank is offering this service to the public.

NEVER has it been more important to have in place a valid, signed will than now, as South Africa battles a devastating health disaster, the likes of which this country has never before experienced, says Rooksana Safaat from Al Baraka Bank.

In light of this, Al Baraka Bank is currently offering a free wills service up to 31 October, aimed at assisting the public to execute their Shariah-compliant wills.

“One’s last Will and Testament must be rated as one of the most important documents. One should be prepared, now more than ever, given the acute risk of Covid-19 infection and distinct possibility of fatally succumbing to its effects. An Islamic Will is especially important to our Muslim community, ensuring – as it does – that assets are dealt with and distributed in accordance with Islamic laws of inheritance,” said Safaat.

She stressed the importance of ensuring that one’s affairs were in order and encouraged people to seek professional advice about preparing this crucial document, and warned of the consequences of dying intestate.Contact: yunusp@albaraka.co.za or visit: www.albaraka.co.za.
