A woman was assaulted and robbed of her jewellery as she sat stunned and shocked after her car was involved in a six car collision on the N3 near Commercial Road around 8am on Monday morning.
According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, paramedics responded to the multiple-vehicle collision and found the six badly-damaged cars obstructing four of the six lanes on the freeway. Four people sustained various injuries. A woman driver, who was sitting in her car stunned, was then assaulted and robbed. All the injured were transported to hospital.
Jamieson said it was unclear what had caused the collision which severely affected traffic into the city centre as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
